Food Sampling:

Gordon asks the server Andrew for recommendations. He tells Gordon that salads are tableside service. He also tells Gordon that all pasta is home-made. Gordon is happy to know that basics are right. He orders a Caesar salad, eggplant roll, homemade lobster ravioli, and rack of lamb. Gordon finds that Andrew has washed lettuce before use. Due to that seasoning does not stick to it and it is very soggy.

Andrew brings in eggplant rolls and they are not fresh and are undercooked. Gordon suspects that they are at least one week old. Andrew checks with Jason and finds out that eggplant rolls are three weeks old. The next dish lobster ravioli tastes like it is store bought. The last dish rack of lamb is disgusting with garlic burnt crust and it tastes bad. Gordon goes into the kitchen to meet Frank. Frank says that this is how he does the dishes, Gordon asks him to be better at what he is doing.

At the dinner service, the restaurant is busier than usual. Gordon finds Frank sitting in the corner booth in the kitchen in a depressing state. Orders are coming and Frank finds it hard to keep up. Frank sends out a fish when he is aware that customer is going to send it back. Gordon tells him that it is better to keep the customer waiting instead of sending bad food. Orders keep returning to the kitchen and Frank cannot take it anymore. Frank is unable to cope up with the pressure and walks out of the kitchen. The sous chef and rest of the kitchen staff cover the remaining orders.

After the dinner service, Gordon talks to Anthony and Kim. He tells them that he is not worried about the food, the wait time or anything else. Gordon is worried about Frank. Gordon thinks that Frank is burnt out and they need to bring him back. He asks Kim and Anthony to think of something pleasant that might work as a reminder for Jason to get back.

The next day, Gordon sits down with Anthony, Kim, and Jason. He asks Anthony and Kim to share what they have to say. Anthony tells Frank that he is aware that he is the main reason behind the issues of the restaurant. He apologies and tells Frank that need to work together to get the restaurant back in business. This is the more like an apology letter from Anthony to Jason. Kim tells Jason that they together have seen bad times. She is and will be there in future and she loves him.

After a hopeful plea from the family, Gordon asks Jason to cook something fresh in the kitchen. Jason is clueless but he cooks a lemon chick dish. Gordon likes the dish, that helps to bring confidence back in Jason.

Relaunch:

After seeing Jason confident, Gordon decides to go to phase 2 of his plan. Overnight, Gordon’s team revamps the decor and feel of the restaurant.
