Food Sampling:

Gordon orders five cheese ravioli, the mahi mahi fish special and linguine piscatore. The ravioli is not fresh and he asks the server to list the 5 cheese types in the dish. As it was store bought frozen ravioli, server had to go to the kitchen to confirm. Mahi Mahi fish was mushy and unseasoned. Linguine pescatore was disgusting. Gordon is not happy with the food and gives his inputs to Luigi. Gordon tells him that his food is dated and he has been cooking the same menu for too long, but, Luigi defends his menu.

Dinner service and kitchen inspection:

Gordon arrives to observe the dinner service and Luigi sends out dishes very fast. Customers do not like the food and most of the food comes back to the kitchen. Gordon tries to confront Luigi, which makes him mad and he walks out in mid of the dinner service. Tony goes behind him and pacifies him.

After dinner service, Gordon talks to Luigi and Tony. For the first time, Luigi understands the problem he is in and asks Gordon to help him.

The next morning, to help the owners gauge the problem better, Gordon sits the family down to watch the team meeting. In this meeting Gordon questions the staff about the issues. Biggest issue stated by the staff was in-fighting between brothers and Grace screaming and shouting at everyone (even customers). Grace was not able to handle the criticism while watching the staff meeting and starts to scream and cry.

In the common meeting all agree to work as team and with positive energy. Gordon takes the family into the kitchen and they make sausages together. Gordon also cook sausage with Luigi to ignite that lost passion. Before closing the night, Gordon plays a message from Luigi’s father who asks them to work together.

Restaurant makeover and relaunch:

Gordon’s design team redesign the interior of the restaurant and give it Italian feel. Luigi and the whole staff liked the decor very much. Gordon then shows them the new menu of the restaurant. They sample the dishes and are happy with the new changes.

On the relaunch night, the dining room is packed, there is a positive buzz around. Gordon asks Tony to expedite. The orders are leaving the kitchen on time and diners are happy with the food they are getting. Service halts for a moment when Tony gets busy with some other stuff, Gordon asks him to stay focused. Tony gets back to the service and starts expediting again. Diners give a positive feedback and overall the relaunch turns out successful. Before leaving, Gordon sits down with the team and explain them that they need to work together to make this work.
